Drawn arc welding:
The drawn arc welding technique enables threaded or plain studs, dowels or other parts 3 to 30 mm in diameter to be welded to steel, stainless steel, refractory steels and in certain cases, aluminium, brass and titanium. The welding and stud feed may be manual or automatic.

The power source is a transformer-rectifier with controlled time (0.1 to 2 seconds) and current intensity. Use of inert gas or ceramic ferrules is necessary with this process.
